Multiplier Events

Multiplier Events

During the final months of the Community Challengers project, each partner held Multiplier Events in order to share the Project Results, disseminate Intellectual Outputs, as well as foster connections amongst their networks for future collaborations.

Berlin, Germany

The German Multiplier Event was organised by YEPP EUROPE and held in Berlin on December 2nd, 2PM 2022.

With the aim of further disseminating the project results, in particular the Intellectual Outputs produced, sharing experiences and the potential of various Community Challenges was underlined through interactive and audience-engaging manners.

The target group of this event were representatives of organisations in the field of youth work, climate change, arts and entrepreneurship learning, as well as young people. Invitations were shared among YEPP EUROPE’s local networks and among participants that could be potential users of the created Intellectual Outputs, as well as promoters and disseminators to potential users. Associated partners of the Coordinator (GER) such as Climate Action Network International, Ideenhochdrei e.V., Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) Germany, Stiftung Entrepreneurship, etc. were engaged as multipliers.

The event was held in the afternoon after the Final Partner’s Meeting of the whole project consortium. All partners attended the first half of the event, underlining the insides and presentation with their experiences made (from individual and organisation’s perspective).

After a Welcoming and introduction on YEPP EUROPE and its Network, the slot focused on the Intellectual Outputs created, linked with learnings and impact created for young participants and participating organisations. During the break, the audience had the opportunity to experience Community Challenges (workshops) with the lead organisations, providing insides, guiding through practical steps, e.g. for Community Mapping, Video Workshops, Visual Art exercises and Songs.

During the following agenda slot, entrepreneurship as a means for active societal participation and empowerment was presented. In the example of the “Community Challengers Climathon” the potential of developing own business solutions and having a social impact on local level was highlighted. This discussion on societal participation was linked to the last slot and the presentation of the Advocacy Tutorials. The Berlin network discussed the possibility to further disseminate and use the videos in order to strengthen the awareness of young people’s place and role in the society, empower everyone to actively participate and create a multiplication effect on a long-term scale.

Hence, during this short practical and participatory event, participants were guided through the LACA learning method, learning from insides and best practice examples and agreed on future cooperation and the strength of the network to further disseminate and promote results amongst respective networks (NGOs, foundations, youth centres, schools etc.).

Aizpute, Latvia

The multiplier event in Aizpute, Latvia was organised by P5 (LV) and held on December 30th 2022. The event represented the final element of local action during the course of the project and was a strategy element for dissemination and future local cooperation.

The objective was to disseminate the project results, Intellectual Outputs, to promote the Community Challengers Model and the LACA learning method to be used by future users such as youth organisations, cultural institutions, schools, youth groups and other groups interested. The local host invited a wide range of community stakeholders and potential multipliers which are composed of representatives of local schools, youth centres and partner organisations in the field of environmental issues, entrepreneurship and arts from the close villages and towns as well as young people.

The event was a mixture between presentations (the projects’ objectives, the LACA-learning method, Intellectual Outputs, best practice examples, etc.) and interactive formats such as watching art videos created, seeing the mural designed and open, interactive discussion for related policy debates including the question of how the model can have further impact on local communities and influence policies at a local, national and international level.

The main points on the agenda were:

– Introduction and project presentation
– Intellectual Outputs and main results on local level (sharing insides from project partner countries)
– Climate Change, art works and social entrepreneurship in rural areas

The further cooperation and involvement of young pupils to build future Community Challengers, was agreed on. Due to the end of the year and conflicting schedules, only few participants could be in place. Intensive online promotion via social media channels was done to further disseminate the project results to local and national stakeholders and potential future users of the material.

The event played an essential role in the project’s dissemination strategy and its activities as project results were presented and young people’s experiences shared (including artworks created, entrepreneurial projects developed, and individual, cultural and education learnings made during the Blended Mobility in Belgrade May 2022). The discussion focused on the topic of environmental and climate issues and solutions in the local community of Portimao, and how arts and social entrepreneurship can be used to bring about positive change.

Further, discussion included points on how the produced material could be optimised and adapted to new contexts, further disseminated to future users and create future or spin-off projects. Involving decision-makers and influencing policies at a local, regional and international level was also discussed for further advocacy work and supporting young people as actors for change on climate change mitigation and sustainable environmental solutions.

Zagreb, Croatia

The multiplier event in Zagreb was organised by P3 (HR) and held on November 16th 2022, at 11AM. As leader of Intellectual Output No3 and main expertise provider for the art challenges, the event addressed a core audience from different divisions of the Academy of Fine Arts, freelance artists, youth workers, NGO representatives and decision-makers to present the results of the project, its Intellectual Outputs and share experiences. The informative and engaging event aimed at enabling and motivating the audience to become promoters and multipliers of the project results.

After a welcoming and introductory session, the first part of the event focused on the question of the artist’s role in societal change. Focusing on environmental topics, local challenges and possibilities of solutions, art and artists can play a key role. This presentation was linked to the next part of the agenda which represented all Intellectual Outputs of the project.

Participating individuals and organisations had been identified as potential users of the created Intellectual Outputs, as promoters and disseminators to potential users (e.g. youth organisations, schools as well as educational programs in the field of sustainability, climate action, arts and cultural and (social) entrepreneurship). The presentation was added by experience sharing from young Community Challengers (art students) who presented their learning on an individual and cultural level as well as on their own role in society.

The motivation and awareness of being a changemaker and involving others, motivated the audience to support future follow-up activities. The last part on the role of trainers and mentors concluded this inside as it brought together different perspectives and underlined the potential of diverse Croatian society and the local community in Zagreb, respectively its strength when working and supporting each other.

14 participants attended the event as various events were taking place on the same date and weather conditions made participation at the Academy of Fine Arts challenging. Continuous online dissemination and social media work was done to spread the project results and reach out to wider networks.
